Jess is the adopted daughter of an over enthusiastic Evangelist. With an upbringing spent learning the bible, and listening to her mother's favourite radio show, "The Jim Reeves Devotional Selection", she unnerves both classmates and teachers when she begins school. When she grows up Jess meets Melanie, and what begins as a simple friendship, her horrified mother and local Pastor believe these "unnatural lusts" to be the work of the devil, and decide extreme measures are necessary if she is to be saved.
